Medicare Advantage (Part C)
Medicare Advantage swaps out Original Medicare for one bundled plan sold by a private carrier approved by Medicare. Most plans wrap in:
- Hospital and medical coverage
- Prescription drug coverage
- A defined provider network
- Copays and a yearly out-of-pocket cap
Some plans throw in dental, vision or hearing benefits, but the actual dollar value varies a lot by carrier and plan.
Advantage plans usually appeal to people who want a lower monthly bill, bundled extras, predictable copays and care coordinated through a network. Provider access is the catch: networks shift every year, so confirm your doctors are still in before you sign up.
